Medicare Announces Training Requirements for Agents

Last week, Medicare announced that all agents must be annually trained on Medicare compliance, Medicare plan products and related rules. All agents must be trained and certified by Oct. 1, 2009, and recertified each year afterward to meet this new requirement.

To start the training and get certified now, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://www.medicareonlinetraining.com/
  2. Click the link on the left that says, “To register for this course, click here.”
  3. Fill out the form. The $149.99 certification fee is payable by credit card.
  4. Go through the training online. Once you’ve finished, you’ll receive a certificate of completion.
